'Listen'

Listen up, uh, Listeners!

So, we originally recorded our podcast for Listen promptly and oh so reliably on Sunday afternoon, eager and ready to get our teeth around the latest adventure for Capaldo and Wideface!

We talked about fear, physics, blankets, TARDIS abuse and oh so much more. Then our recording software went and shat itself. But hell, we won't be deterred by such calamity! (We were reasonably deterred). But we've taken a few days, dried our tears and got ready to throw ourselves back down the time vortex once again. Bizarrely enough, we were able to salvage the first 15 minutes of the original podcast and we then supplement that bad boy by getting back into the ring and re-recording the last third, like goddamn heroes.

So prepare yourself, as we attempt to have more or less the the same conversation twice - and make it sound natural!

'Robot of Sherwood'

I say! You, over there in the trees! Be thee Robin Hood?

That's the question this week, listeners, as Capaldo decides to offer Clara a freebie in the TARDIS - and she requests a little jaunt back in time in the hopes of coming face to face with her hero, the prince of thieves himself.

But is he really the (allegedly) legendary Robin Hood? Or just another wind-up mechaboy in search of The Promise Land? Well, don't worry, none of that matters, because what truly matters is the Olympic level bickering we're to witness in this week's episode, with the prince of thieves in one corner at the last of the Time Lord's in the other!

So grab your golden arrow, dress yourself up like a fancy maiden and get ready to experience the Bums Rush!

'Into the Dalek'

Holy fish fingers and custard! Can it really be a week since we all took a deep breath to usher in our brand new Doctor? Yes. Yes it can.

We're back in action for Capaldo's second adventure this week and what better way to get to know your new GP than with him facing off against his arch nemesis? However, 'Into the Dalek' is bringing us a conflict with a neat twist. Is it, as the name implies, the inevitable consummation of the Doctor/Dalek bromance?

Alas, no. But what we get instead is a hellishly pretty episode with moral quandaries, monologues to camera and the tried and trusted Clara Come-on Method (TM). So, get in your miniaturisation device, crank up your speakers and prepare to get lusty with Rusty!

'Deep Breath'

The clock is striking twelve and so it's time for us to take a little break from our Ecclestone adventures, as for the next 13 weeks we're travelling into unchartered territory with a brand new doctor, the fresh faced Petey Capaldo, and things are no doubt about to get topsy, turvy and decidedly Scottish!

But aside from the virtual assurance of quality that comes with the Capoldo brand, what other changes have we got in store for us? Will Clara have her character randomly changed/defined? Will the monster of the week make any sense? Will the Doctor (or 'Doctor Who' as SOME like to call him) make his regular outfit a dirty, torn, stinking Victorian nightshirt?

There's only one way to answer some of these incredibly pressing questions, and that's to tune into the newest Doctor Who Rewatch Podcast! Don't forget, listeners, though this podcast acts as a commentary for the show, we make an extra effort to ensure you can enjoy it just as much in isolation if the thought of watching the episode whilst listening makes you recoil in horror. Enjoy!

'The Empty Child'

Ah, the Second World War -they were the good old days, right? That sense of national pride. The reckless unprotected sex with virtual strangers. The sense that you or your loved ones could be obliterated at any moment. Yep, them truly were the golden years - and this week, Doctor Who is proving it, as old Ecclescake takes us back to an era where if you were brave enough to maybe get blown up, you could go and steal your neighbour's underwear with complete impunity.

But aside from thieving used tea bags, the Doctor and Rose have a whole different game ahead of them this week as they must deal with a small boy (or as the podcast may claim, adult woman) who basically does not know who the feck his Mam is.

So, join our intrepid time agents on yet another caper, as they attempt to deal with Stevie Moffat's first foray into the world of New Who - things will never be the same!

'Father's Day'

We've all got things in life we regret, right? Such as continuing to subscribe to a magazine after you've stopped reading, or getting up to mad japes whilst on the Cracks and Bongs. Well, for Rose Tyler, she spends her time flying about in one of them Time Boxes so decides to convince old Ecclestone to let her spend a bit of time with the father she never met, on the day he decided to headbutt a car.

But, no way, Rose goes and saves the blighter and before you know it, it's all gone Fuck Up for planet Earth. So we're dealing with paradoxes, churches, winged time beasts and the continued debauchery inherent to Mickie and Jackie's decades spanning affair.

Pop on your generic MP3 playa and get ready for us to cauterise your time wound!

'The Long Game'

Well, well!

Nestled in the middle of Peter Ecclstone's debut/farewell tour as the Doctor is this surprising gem of an episode! Yes, what might initially seem like a run of the mill/monster of the week adventure for the TARDIS posse has a lot more going on in it than us WHINECAST boys ever remembered and hell, it's a ruddy pleasure!

We've got thwarted teenage romances! There's intrigue, deception, social commentary! There's Simone Peggles, a genuine movie star, as our kooky villain! Not to mention some some sexy surgery and an endearingly surly Ninth Doctor.

So, get yourself a hole in your head, gobble down a cronk burger, smoke some death sticks and step onto Satellite Five for an audience with The Editor!

The Whinecast Boyz couldn't recommend this early work of Mr Pegg highly enough.
